A gun in a whole raw chicken and fentanyl in a packet of cones are among the top 10 most unusual items found by US airport security.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials at checkpoints across the country have compiled a list of the strangest items they’ve found.

Many of their finds were deadly weapons, with passengers attempting to smuggle weapons in raw chicken, peanut butter, and even a medicinal noose.

Security forces even found a hand grenade in a carry-on bag at Milwaukee Mitchell Airport, prompting an explosive ordnance disposal squad to be called to the scene.

Luckily it turned out to be just a replica.

Drugs were also found in foreign objects, including hair bows and a pack of skittles.

Elsewhere, another “dirty money” stuffed into a pair of crutches.

TSA said, “Call our TSA agents around the country to protect the traveling public.”
