The shocking video of the moment in which a plane with 72 people plunges to the ground in Nepal

Nepal It was the scene of a tragic accident involving a Yeti Airlines plane that crashed near Pokhara, a city in the center of the country where it was supposed to land. Videos taken at the place where the aircraft fell show the rescue tasks carried out by the forces of that country, as well as by citizens who came to help, amid dense columns of smoke and fire. Among the 68 passengers was an Argentine, identified as Jannet Sandra Palavecino. Also five citizens of India, four Russians, two Koreans, an Australian, an Irishman and a Frenchman. The members of the crew they were four. For now, international agencies reported at least 68 dead.

Images taken later, when the forces had already managed to extinguish most of the flames, although they were still working throwing water at them, reveal the remains of the ATR 72, among the crowd that gathered at that site between the old Pokhara airport, created in 1958, and the new international terminal of this city, inaugurated on January 1.

This is the worst air disaster in Nepal in three decades. “They took 31 corpses to hospitals,” he told the AFP police officer AK Chhetri, adding that they found another 36 bodies at the site where the plane crashed this Sunday.

Likewise, Army sources explained that it is difficult to remove lifeless people from that area, as it is a ravine, although the search and rescue operations continued in the morning -Argentine time-.

The flight came from Kathmandu, the Nepalese capital, and Pokhara was his destination. This city in the center of the country is an important crossing point for foreign pilgrims and mountaineers.
