Accident in Bolivia leaves four dead and a 3-year-old girl injured

Four people died this Monday during a traffic accident on the old highway between the departments Bolivians of Cochabamba Y Santa Cruzwhile a 3-year-old girl was seriously injured.

The police chief mentioned that the drivers of both vehicles lost their lives, in addition to the passenger of the truck, where the minor was receiving medical attention at the main hospital in Cochabamba due to her injuries from “gravity”.

Mercado explained that after the impact between the truck and the tractor-trailer, the latter “it ran aground about 10 meters” and that on that journey he ran over a cyclist who was passing through the place and who is the fourth person to die in the accident.

Preliminarily, it was established that the possible cause of the transit event is due to a possible “speeding with lane invasion” in a curve with “slope-descent”Mercado said.

The old road between the central department of Cochabamba and the eastern department of Santa Cruz is an alternative route to the new highway that usually has the most traffic for one of the most important routes in the country.
