Venezuela decided to cancel a previously agreed meeting between the president Nicolas Maduro and his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silvathe Brazilian government reported on Monday.
Brazil had announced earlier that the two leaders planned to meet in Buenos Aires in the afternoon, at a time when both attend the summit of Latin American and Caribbean countries in the Argentine capital.

However, later the team Lula released a new update to its agenda that reported that the meeting will not take place because Venezuela canceled it.
Lulawho assumed the presidency on January 1, has asked his foreign minister to restore relations with Venezuela. Diplomatic ties between the two countries were severed in 2020 under the government of Brazil’s far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro.
