The president did not travel to Argentina due to a “plan of aggressions” against him, according to information from the Venezuelan Executive, and for this reason he sent Foreign Minister Yván Gil on his behalf.

Maduro accused the US of “trying to return to the era of coups” and “threaten the countries (of Latin America and the Caribbean) with military interventions” or “impose criminal sanctions” that seek, he assured, a “collapse” and “implosion” of society.

Countries like Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, he reiterated, are victims of financial restrictions imposed by the US, which maintains this policy considering that these governments are undemocratic or violate human rights.

The Venezuelan president stressed the need to “defend Latin America and the Caribbean as an independent territory” which, he added, must undertake an “irreversible path” towards integration, although he acknowledged that this goal requires “great tasks” in the political and economic spheres. .

The President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, called this Tuesday, during the opening of the VII Celac Summit, to deepen the integration of the countries of the region, and stressed the importance of respecting “diversity” to “grow together”.
