At least two people were killed and several injured in a knife attack on a train in northern Germanythe police reported on Wednesday.
The attack took place on a regional train connecting the cities of Kiel and Hamburg, a Flensburg police spokesman said.

The alleged attacker was detained at the Brokstedt station, where the convoy was immobilized. The motive for the attack is still unknown, according to police.
Several police vehicles and ambulances arrived at the station, according to photos published by the Bild newspaper. The Deutsche Bahn, the railway company, announced the cancellation of several trains.
