“Security coordination with the occupation government no longer exists from now on”announced Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas, who called on all Palestinian factions to come together.

The president calls all Palestinian forces to an emergency meeting to agree on a comprehensive national vision and unite ranks to confront Israeli aggression and deal with it,” his spokesman added.

In addition, the ANP announced its intention to file complaints about what happened before the UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court, where they have already filed complaints about war crimes and crimes against humanity under the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

In addition to the nine killed in the morning, another Palestinian was killed this afternoon in East Jerusalem by Israeli fire in the protests that took place throughout the West Bank over the “massacre” of Jeninin the deadliest day in the area in years.

So far this year, with today’s 10 there are already 30 fatalities in west bank in violent incidents with Israel, an average of more than one per day, after 2022 closed as the deadliest year in the area since the end of the Second Intifada, with 170 deaths.

Israel and the Palestinian Authority they maintain security ties in a shared effort to contain the activity of armed militias linked to Islamist groups, especially Hamas and Islamic Jihad; although it has been interrupted on several occasions when the tension between the parties has been high.

The last time Abbas suspended it was in 2020, in response to the annexation plan of the previous government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which contemplated the annexation of area C of west bankalthough it was not implemented.

Security cooperation between the parties in west bank has become one of the pillars of stability in the area and includes issues ranging from the exchange of information on potential attacks against Israelis or Hamas activities against the PNA, to coordination so that Palestinian officials can circulate easily between different areas of the territory.

This cooperation is part of the Oslo Accords, which in 1995 divided the territories of the West Bank into three zones: A, under the control of the Palestinian National Authority; B, under Palestinian administrative control and Israeli security; and C, wholly controlled by Israel.

Today’s incidents occurred when Israeli army troops, intelligence agents and police officers stormed the camp in the morning. Jeninto carry out an operation to arrest an Islamic Jihad squad that led to violent armed confrontations, the most serious in the area in years.
