“Regarding a meeting or conversation with China, we have received some signals, but there has been no confirmation. There is nothing specific yet.”Zelensky said in a joint appearance with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who visited him in kyiv today.

Xi is in Moscow today to address, among other issues, the Chinese peace proposal with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a meeting after which a communication with the Ukrainian president is scheduled.

In a post on his Telegram channel, Zelensky called Kishida – the first Japanese minister to travel to a conflict zone since World War II – a “powerful defender of the international order and old friend of Ukraine”.

He added that Kishida has traveled to Ukraine at a time when it is important to strengthen global leadership when it comes to “to protect the purpose and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and of international security in general”.

The Japanese prime minister arrived in Kiev this morning and from there went to the town of Bucha, north of the capital, known for the massacre of civilians allegedly carried out there during the withdrawal of Russian troops.

In addition, he paid tribute to the victims of the conflict before meeting with Zelensky.

Kishida will leave Ukraine that night and tomorrow he is scheduled to meet Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki in Warsaw before returning to Japan.
