Ukrainian “hacktivists” claim they exposed the Russian who ordered the Mariupol Drama Theater bombing that killed up to 700 people.

The senior officer was Colonel Sergei Atroshchenko, 41, a commander of the assault aviation regiment, who was branded a “war criminal.”

About 1,000 people – mostly women and children – used the building for shelter when it was hit on March 16 last year.

Atroshchenko’s fighter jets are also reported to have bombed the Mariupol maternity hospital, killing at least four people, injuring 16 and causing at least one stillbirth.

After the colonel refused to cooperate with the hacktivist’s investigation, they released intimate photos of him and his wife Liliya, 40.

According to the report, “The hacktivists have noticed that Lilya likes to send her husband ‘photo surprises’.”

Believing that she was communicating with her husband’s air force colleagues, she also agreed to pose with other women at her husband’s air base in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, near the Sea of Azov.

Ukrainian official Pyotr Andryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, said: “The number one killer of the citizens of Mariupol has been identified.

“The one who gave orders and controlled the bombing of the drama theater, the maternity hospital and the children’s hospital.”

The information was passed on to the International Criminal Court in The Hague in the Netherlands and to the intelligence agency InformNapalm.

Russia denied responsibility for the Mariupol theater massacre, claiming it was blown up by the Ukrainian Azov battalion.

However, this is refuted by several studies.

The theater strike has been classified as a war crime by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) and Amnesty International.
