An alleged implicated in the massacre of nine members (three women and six minors) of several Mormon families in the state of Sonora, north of MexicoIn November 2019, he was arrested this Wednesday in the city of Chihuahua, capital of the homonymous state, authorities reported.

In a statement, the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), reported that this day the arrest of Uriel “V”, who the media identified as Uriel Valle Dominguez, alias “El 18”, who had an arrest warrant for his probable responsibility for the crime of organized crime.

In addition, he pointed out that the now detainee was transferred by air to the International Airport of the city of Toluca, capital of the State of Mexico, to be presented to the authorities at the Federal Center for Social Readaptation number. 1 “El Altiplano”, in the municipality of Almoloya de Juárez.

The Sedena specified that agents of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) participated in the arrest, which occurred this Wednesday, with the support of the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the National Intelligence Center (CNI).

In a message on social networks, Adrián LeBarón, father of Rhonita Miller, one of the victims murdered along with her twins who are just eight months old, reported the arrest.

“They arrested Uriel Valle Dominguez allegedly involved in the massacre of my daughter, grandchildren and more family. It seems that he will be consigned for organized crime. I ask to be present at the initial hearing, I need it! ”, noted in a message on Twitter.

The detainee is reportedly linked to the criminal group “The line”, armed arm of the Juarez Cartel, a group that was related to the massacre perpetrated against Mormon families.

It was on November 4, 2019 when at least two groups of men with assault rifles fired in an ambush in the mountains between the states of Sonora and Chihuahua against three trucks carrying women and children who left the La Morita community, in the municipality of Bavispe, towards the Mormon community of LeBarón.

Last July, relatives of the nine Mormons asked the Government of Mexico and the United States not to stop investigating the case, which, they said, is far from being resolved.

They recalled that up to that moment there were 20 detainees out of a hundred people who participated directly in the massacre of the relatives, but none with a sentence.

In addition, they regretted that the FGR has failed in 15 of the 20 detainees, accused of organized crime, “to impute their direct participation in the massacre because, as usual, there are weaknesses in the investigation.”
