Three dead and one injured in a train-vehicle collision in the United States

Three people have died and one was injured after a collision between a passenger train and a vehicle in North Charleston, South Carolina, USA).

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, according to NBC News. The news was confirmed with a statement from the Fire Department, where it specified that the accident occurred at 2:30 in the morning at the Remount highway railroad crossing, where the car was found with “serious damage” and to the train Amtrak stopped.

Four people were found near the car, three of them died “In situ”. The fourth victim was transferred by firefighters to a hospital and so far his state of health is unknown.

It should be noted that the 500 passengers traveling on the train were not injured in the accident, only the train traffic was interrupted for a few hours.

At the moment, the authorities are investigating how the collision occurred, as it is not clear what caused the accident.

Last month, three people lost their lives and several were injured in an accident involving an Amtrak train, the American state passenger train network, in Montana on its way from Seattle to Chicago.
