Mexico City starts this Monday vaccination against the coronavirus of minors between 15 and 17 years of age

The Government of the City of Mexico reported this Saturday that on Monday, November 29, the anticovid vaccination of some 380,000 minors between 15 and 17 years old, residents of the Mexican capital, will begin.

In a conference, capital government authorities indicated that the vaccination of adolescents will take place from November 29 to December 4 in the 16 mayoralties of the capital.

This in the continuation of the National Vaccination Plan in Mexico City and for this the first dose of the biological Pfizer-BioNTech will be applied.

As scheduled and according to the initial letter of the first surname, the mayoralties Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Iztapalapa, Iztacalco, Milpa Alta, Tlalpan and Xochimilco will apply the vaccine at Deportivo Villa, Expo Santa Fe, the National Preparatory School 5 and Vocational School 7.

While the Coyoacán, Magdalena Contreras and Tláhuac mayors will have as headquarters the Center for Naval Studies in Health Sciences (Cencis) of the Secretary of the Navy.

For the mayors of Azcapotzalco and Gustavo A. Madero, their headquarters will be the Arena Ciudad de México and for the mayors of Cuauhtémoc, Miguel Hidalgo, Benito Juárez and Venustiano Carranza, the vaccination will take place at the Vasconcelos Library.

These days, Mexico is in the vaccination of minors between 12 and 17 years with comorbidities.

The director of the Digital Agency for Public Innovation (Adip), Eduardo Clark, indicated that one of the requirements to be vaccinated, in addition to age, is that being minors “they must be accompanied by an adult, it can be a legal guardian, the mother, father or relative who is over 18 years old ”.

He explained that “if an adolescent turns 15 during December 2021, he can go to receive his dose” and stressed that only 15-year-olds will be vaccinated, or that they will meet them this year, and up to 17 years “and not lagging behind from other groups old”.

He specified that young people who have reached 18 years of age and have not been immunized should come as laggards when it is their age group’s turn.

The official said that so far about 250,000 teenagers between the ages of 15 and 17 have been registered.

Until now, Mexico City, the focus of the pandemic, has accumulated 983,222 confirmed infections, with 3,632 active cases and 52,504 deaths.
