China registers 94 new cases of coronavirus, 60 of them due to local contagion

The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 94 new positives of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 this Monday, 60 of them due to local contagion in the provinces of Inner Mongolia (north, 55), Heilongjiang (northeast, 2), Yunnan (south, 2) and Zhejiang (east, 1).

The remaining 34 cases were found among foreign travelers in Guangxi (south, 13), Shanghai (east, 5), Sichuan (center, 5), Yunnan (5), Canton (south, 3), Beijing (1), Shandong (east, 1) and Shaanxi (center, 1).

The total number of cases represents a slight rebound compared to the last two parts.

The health authorities also reported today the detection of 14 asymptomatic cases, 4 due to local contagion and 10 from abroad, although Beijing does not count them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.

The total of this type of infections under observation is 471, of which 404 come from other territories.

The National Health Commission also detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Monday), 47 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming the covid.

The total number of active infected in mainland China amounts to 1,107, 16 of which are serious.

According to the institution’s accounts, since the beginning of the pandemic, 99,297 people have been infected in the country, among whom 93,554 have managed to heal and 4,636 have died.

To date, 1,341,664 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 36,973 are still under observation.
