Tigre is shot dead after biting the arm of a worker who tried to touch him at the Florida zoo

A tiger from the Naples Zoo (Florida, United States) was shot by the police and died after seriously injuring a cleaning company worker who after the closure entered the big cat area and apparently tried to touch or feed him.

The seriously injured worker was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital on Wednesday and the tiger, who was shot by a police officer, died hours later, according to the WINK News channel of the neighboring town of Fort Myers, in the southwest. from Florida.

The zoo said in a statement that the cleaning worker was in a restricted access area where his company does not perform tasks.

He apparently tried to feed or touch Eko, a four-year-old Malaysian tiger who arrived at the Naples Zoo in 2020, through the gate, and the cat grabbed his arm and pulled him into the enclosure.

The animal withdrew to the rear of its enclosure and the zoo verified with a drone that it was unconscious and later that it had died.
