Italy exceeds 100,000 coronavirus infections in one day for the first time

Italy reported this Thursday that in the last 24 hours it registered 126,888 new infections of coronavius and 156 deaths, and the rate of positivity (percentage of positives among all the tests carried out) has risen to 11%, from 9.5% on Wednesday.

The Italian Ministry of Health communicated these data and said that the country has already reached 6 million total infected since February 2020 and has exceeded 137,200 deaths.

This Thursday, 1.1 million tests of coronavirus and the region that has reported the most new cases has been Lombardy (north), with 39,152, followed by Tuscany (center), which has reported 15,830.

There are currently 779,463 positives, of which 12,092 are admitted to hospitals, 1,226 of them in ucis.

Regarding the vaccination campaign, Italy already has 88.91% of the population over 12 years old with at least one dose and 85.79% over 12 years old with the full regimen, while 60.63% of those who can receive the booster they already have.

7.32% of children between 5 and 11 years old are also vaccinated with at least one dose.
