The authorities of several countries on Sunday multiplied the alerts destined for their residents due to the torrential rains that have been falling for several days in this very hot and arid region.

The storms disturb the day-to-day life of these rich Gulf countries, as the authorities have hardly installed water evacuation systems, due to the lack of rainfall.

In United Arab Emirates, torrential rains fell throughout the country, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Bad weather will persist until Thursday, according to the official press agency WAM.

Heavy rainfall also occurs in the great desert kingdom of Saudi Arabia, even for pilgrims from the holy city of Mecca.
