Security camera records how an 18-year-old girl throws her newborn into the garbage

Alexis Ávila is an 18-year-old girl who has generated controversy in New Mexico (U.S) for dumping your newborn baby in a garbage container.

The woman was imprisoned and now faces criminal charges that could lead to 15 years in prison.

It was a security camera that captured the moment when the woman threw the baby into the garbage can inside a black bag. The little boy, in the middle of tears, was rescued six hours later. He was later diagnosed with hypothermia.

According to People, the boy is stable after receiving medical attention, which included a blood and oxygen transfusion.

Ávila faces charges of murder and child abuse. She told authorities that she allegedly did not know she was pregnant until a day before giving birth in the bathroom of her parents’ home.

The woman assured that she panicked and that she broke off the relationship with the baby’s father in August 2021.

The baby had the umbilical cord when it was found in the Broadmoor Mall garbage can. Now the woman faces a possible 15-year prison sentence and will have to appear in court, after being released from prison after posting a $ 10,000 bond.

The three people who found the baby are Michael Green, Hector Jesso and April Meadow, who heard the cry and thought it was a puppy dog ​​or cat.

For her part, the mother of the accused, Martha Ávila, stated that she did not know that her daughter was pregnant, and the authorities found bloody clothes when they searched the family’s home.
