This Monday, the president of the country, Luis Lacalle Pou, gave a press conference with Salinas in which he emphasized that they do not plan to close the borders again – which reopened on November 1 after 20 months – and that the country, despite to the high numbers of positives, it has “the great defense” of its high level of vaccinated with two or three doses.

In addition, this country eliminated the obligation for tourists to undergo a PCR test to detect the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus one week after entering.

Regarding vaccination, according to the web monitor developed by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) until 18.25 hours (21.25 GMT) this Tuesday, 2,680,442 people (75.65% of the population) completed their schedule of vaccination of the Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinovac, the Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca and the American Pfizer.
