The dollar price in Colombia it was trading higher in the session this Friday, after a solid job data in the United States that is key for the monetary policy decisions of the Federal Reserve.

For its part, in the Colombian stock market, the benchmark MSCI COLCAP index rose 0.57% to 1,524.85 points.

The region’s currencies fell despite the dollar, set to post its biggest daily loss since May 2021 as oil prices rose.

The US Department of Labor said on Friday that 467,000 jobs were created in the first month of the year, more than expected, compared to 510,000 in the previous month. A Reuters poll of 92 economists had forecast job creation to fall to 150,000.

In 2021, the US dollar was exchanged at a maximum of 4,033.25 Colombian pesos, while its lowest level was 3,412.80.
