Today’s dollar in Colombia: check the exchange rate for this Monday, February 28, 2022

The price of the US dollar in Colombia fell on Monday, amid a global decline in the dollar and a slight increase in appetite for risk assets, after the application of sanctions against Russia after the invasion of Ukraine.

The exchange rate was quoted with a fall of 0.18% to 3,906.30 Colombian pesos per dollar, according to data from the Reuters agency.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index of the stock market, the MSCI COLCAP, erased initial losses and rose 0.44% to 1,516.24 points.

The dollar fell on Friday, a day after posting its biggest daily percentage gain in more than three months, as investors weighed the latest round of sanctions on Russia and US inflation data was seen as likely to prevent the Federal Reserve be too aggressive at your next monetary policy meeting.

The US currency had posted its biggest gain since Nov. 10 on Thursday. However, it gave up some gains after US President Joe Biden hit Russia with a wave of sanctions following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, but refrained from withdrawing Russia from the SWIFT international banking system.

In 2021, the US dollar was exchanged at a maximum of 4,033.25 Colombian pesos, while its lowest level was 3,412.80.
