The price of the US dollar in Colombia operated this Tuesday, amid an advance of the dollar in international markets, while the stock markets had a disparate closing, in a session in which the attention of the markets turned to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The price of the dollar in Colombia for this Tuesday, April 5, 2022 is 3,704 Colombian pesos, according to Reuters data.

In the previous day, at the regional level, most of the currencies of Latin America rose on Monday, despite an advance of the dollar in the international markets, while the stock markets had an uneven closing, in a session in which the attention of the markets turned to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

According to the Reuters agency, Germany and its international partners will agree to new sanctions on Russia in the coming days, a government spokesman said on Monday, adding that he was confident that the European Union would remain united on further measures.

“We will decide on new measures in the coming days, consulting our allies beforehand,” the spokesman told reporters. “(Russian) President Vladimir Putin and his supporters will feel the consequences of these new sanctions.”

Meanwhile, the dollar index found support in the increase in the yield of Treasury bonds, due to expectations of further increases in interest rates in the United States, and gained around 0.4%.

In 2021, the US dollar was exchanged at a maximum of 4,033.25 Colombian pesos, while its lowest level was 3,412.80.
