The dollar price US in Colombia operated this Friday, after the president of the United States Federal Reserve, Jerome Powell, hinted that the US central bank would act aggressively to curb runaway inflation.

The price of the dollar in Colombia for this Saturday, April 23, 2022 is 3,774 Colombian pesos, according to Reuters data.

In the previous day, at the regional level, most of the currencies of Latin America exhibited gains on Wednesday, while the stock markets registered a disparate behavior, in the midst of a significant decline in the dollar at a global level, with the markets still affected by the reduction in growth forecasts for the world economy.

According to the Reuters agency, the dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of six major currencies, fell around 0.6% while the yield on US Treasury bonds fell.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday cut its global economic growth forecast by almost a percentage point due to Russia’s war in Ukraine, warning that inflation is now a “clear and obvious danger” for many countries.

Earlier, on Monday, the World Bank made a similar statement, also citing the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on markets.

In 2021, the US dollar was exchanged at a maximum of 4,033.25 Colombian pesos, while its lowest level was 3,412.80.
