The foreign currency registered an appreciation of 10.28% at the end of 2021 due to the impact of political uncertainty and doubts about the economic outlook due to the new variants of the coronavirus.

At a regional level, the markets of Latin America closed mixed on Wednesday, with some of the assets recovering value after the announcements of the US Federal Reserve in line with expectations.

According to Reuters, the Federal Reserve raised its overnight benchmark interest rate by half a percentage point, the biggest increase in 22 years, and the head of the US central bank made a direct appeal to Americans struggling with high inflation. to hold on while they take harsh measures to control it.
