Dollar in Peru: What is the exchange rate for today, Tuesday, May 24

The price of the US dollar in Peru was trading downwards in the informal or parallel market today, Tuesday, May 24, 2022. The exchange rate remained at S/ 3,705 for purchase and S/ 3,740 for sale, according to exchange houses in Lima. .

On the other hand, in the interbank market, the greenback closed at S/ 3,718, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank.

The monetary entity detailed that the dollar has a decline of 6.84%% so far in 2022, compared to the result recorded at the end of last year (S / 3,991).

At the regional level, the Latin American currency and stock markets traded with broad gains, amid a significant decline in the dollar due to a greater appetite for risky assets, after comments by US President Joe Biden on China, and with agents attentive to the minutes of the Federal Reserve.

According to the Reuters agency, the interest in today’s risk assets was based on Biden’s announcement that the trade tariffs imposed on China by the previous administration will be discussed.
