On the other hand, in the interbank market, the greenback closed at S/ 3,725, according to data provided by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR).

So far this year, the greenback accumulates a decline of 6.66% compared to the last price of 2021, at S / 3,991.

The foreign currency registered an appreciation of 10.28% at the end of 2021 due to the impact of political uncertainty and doubts about the economic outlook due to the new variants of the coronavirus.

At the regional level, most currencies and stock markets in Latin America posted losses on Monday due to concerns about the health of the global economy, in a day with low volume of business as a result of a holiday that kept the markets of the United States closed. Joined.

According to the Reuters agency, the attention of the markets during this week will be focused on the opinion that several central bank leaders will give, after the monetary tightening of the US Federal Reserve that, last week, increased interest rates by 75 basis points. and signal that there will be more hikes.

Meanwhile, the US markets remained closed on Monday for the commemoration of Emancipation Day, which limited the actions of the markets in the region that were deprived of the main place to carry out currency arbitrage.
