Dollar in Peru: what is the exchange rate today, Wednesday, June 22

The price of the US dollar in Peru was trading lower in the informal or parallel market today, Wednesday, June 22, 2022. The exchange rate fell to S/ 3,700 for purchase and S/ 3,730 for sale, according to exchange houses in Lima.

On the other hand, in the interbank market, the greenback closed at S/ 3,722, according to data provided by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCR).

So far this year, the greenback accumulates a decline of 6.74% compared to the last price of 2021, at S / 3,991.

The foreign currency registered an appreciation of 10.28% at the end of 2021 due to the impact of political uncertainty and doubts about the economic outlook due to the new variants of the coronavirus.

Regionally, Latin American currencies were mixed on Tuesday as most stock markets rose on lower risk aversion, though fears of a global recession kept investors cautious on a day in which Colombian markets recorded heavy losses.

According to the Reuters agency, the Colombian markets led the falls, as a reaction to the victory of leftist Gustavo Petro in the presidential elections over the weekend, which accentuated investors’ fears about some of his proposals.
