Dollar price in Peru: what is the exchange rate today, Sunday, July 3

The price of the US dollar in Peru traded higher on Friday, amid increased volatility for global equities, as recession concerns also sent metals and commodity currencies lower again.

The exchange rate is trading at S/ 3.83 per dollar, an advance of 0.74% compared to Thursday’s close at S/ 3,827, according to data from the Bloomberg agency.

So far this year, the greenback accumulates a decline of 3.45% compared to the last price of 2021 at S / 3,991. On the other hand, in the parallel market or the main exchange houses, the dollar is bought at S/ 3,800 and sold at S/ 3,860, according to the portal cualestaeldolar.pe.

Globally, the second half of the year started on Friday with more volatility for world stocks, as recessionary concerns also sent metals and commodity currencies lower again.

According to the Reuters agency, the MSCI world stock index has had its worst start to the year since its creation in 1990 and an early fall followed by the recovery in both European papers and Wall Street futures pointed to greater instability in the future.

Growth-sensitive copper fell 2.7%, on track for its fourth consecutive weekly decline, while US Treasuries and German Bunds rallied in bond markets.

However, signs that inflation is peaking and signs of weak growth have begun to stabilize bond markets.

Two-year Treasury notes are headed for their best week since the markets’ pandemic collapse in March 2020, as traders are cutting bets on interest rate hikes.
