How much is the dollar worth in Chile: check here the exchange rate for today, July 4

How much is the dollar in Chile? Here we tell you what the exchange rate is for this Monday, July 4, given the concern of the markets and investors about galloping inflation and the possibility of a recession, which was driving the foreign currency, seen as a refuge asset.

The dollar in Chile ended the day on Friday, July 1, at 930.20 Chilean pesos, which meant a rise of 0.86% compared to the session on Thursday, according to Reuters data.

At the regional level, the currencies had a new day of significant losses on Friday, compared to an advance of the dollar in the global markets, while the stock markets closed higher, given the concern about the world economy after high inflation in the Euro zone

According to the Reuters agency, galloping inflation and the rush of central banks to raise interest rates and curb the flow of cheap money have driven sales in all markets and have pushed up assets considered safer.

The dollar index, which compares the greenback to a basket of six currencies, gained about 0.6%, despite a drop in US Treasury yields.

The Chilean peso is the official currency of Chile, whose origins with the Central Bank of Chile as issuer date back to 1925.

Currently, coins of 10, 50, 100 and 500 Chilean pesos are in circulation. Those of 1 and 5 pesos have ceased to be issued since 2017.

To date, the bills that circulate in Chile are those of 1,000, 2,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 20,000 pesos.

The 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 peso bills are made of a material known as polymer, which is soft and smooth to the touch. For the denominations of 10,000 and 20,000 pesos, cotton paper is used, which gives them a certain rough texture.
