An airline gives you gifts if you choose the middle seat

Being squeezed between two other passengers, without being able to admire the view or easily get to the toilet: many travelers refuse to take the middle seat during an airplane flight. As CNN Travel reports on Tuesday, the airline Virgin Australia is well aware of the program and has therefore devised a special lottery to encourage travelers to reserve the middle seat: the “Middle Seat Lottery”.

To participate in the competition organized by Virgin Australia, you must be over 18 years old, be a member of the Velocity Frequent Flyer loyalty program… and of course, choose the middle seat when planning your trip.

Gifts worth 145,000 euros

Prizes worth 230,000 Australian dollars (about 145,000 euros) are up for grabs, such as tickets to the grand final of the Australian Football League, with flights and access to the VIP evening included. But it is also possible to win a day of pub crawls by helicopter in Darwin (Australia) or two days of vacation in Cairns (Australia) with bungee jumping.

The lottery announcement was a hit with Virgin Australia passengers, much to the delight of the CEO. “We have a lot of fun delivering exciting innovations to make every part of the travel experience more wonderful,” Jayne Hrdlicka said in a statement carried by CNN. You have until April 23 to try your luck.
