Everything must disappear. Almost a month to the day after the sudden announcement of the compulsory liquidation of Camaïeu, and the dismissal of 1,600 employees, the process continues with the auctioning of the brand’s stocks. It will take place on Wednesday in Vendeville, in the North, we learned from Mercier et Cie, responsible for the sale.
The three days of maintenance of activity granted by the Commercial Court of Lille will not have been enough, far from it, to sell all the stocks of Camaïeu. Thus, the goods stored in some 500 stores in France and those in warehouses in Roubaix will be sold in an auction next week.
A “store” value of 48 million euros
The volume is astronomical, divided into no less than 20 lots. For the points of sale, now closed, this represents 1.2 million pieces “for a store sale price value of around 34 million euros including tax”, details Mercier et Cie. To this must be added more than half a million pieces from warehouses for an amount “store sale price” of more than 14 million euros.
However, there is no need to go to this sale if you are an individual, unless you have major clothing needs and you have 50,000 euros aside to deposit before the auction.
