Dollar rises to S/ 3.90 after announcement of dissolution of Congress

The price of the US dollar in Peru operates on the rise this Wednesday, December 7, after President Pedro Castillo in his message to the Nation announced the dissolution of the Congress of the Republic.

At 11:50 am, the exchange rate registered S/ 3.90 per dollar, a great advance compared to the beginning of the day of S/ 3.8345, according to the Bloomberg agency.

Then, at 12:50 pm, the US currency registered a value of S/ 3,877.

In the parallel market or the main exchange houses, the dollar is bought at S/ 3.82 and sold at S/ 4.00, according to data from the portal cuantoestaeldolar.pe.

Within hours of voting for the presidential vacancy, Castillo decided to dissolve the Congress of the Republic and announced that he would call elections for the next Parliament to draw up a new Constitution.

“Temporarily dissolve the Congress of the Republic and establish an exceptional emergency government. Call in the shortest possible time for elections for a new Congress with constituent powers to prepare a new Constitution within a period of no more than nine months.he said during his message to the Nation.
