Product recall: We are talking about Freyel foie gras blocks

At a time when everyone is thinking about their holiday menu and some are starting to shop for the big day, it’s worth checking out which brand of foie gras you’ve chosen. Duck liver block with Feyel brand pieces, packaged in a 200g pack, is the subject of a product recall issued by the authorities on the Rappel Conso website, which depends on the ministries of agriculture and economy.

These are very specific blocks with a consumption period until February 28, 2024, which have been distributed throughout France by Leclerc, Intermarché, Système U, Coran, Auchan and Casino, Carrefour, Spart and Transgourmet. According to a press release from Rappel Conso, foie gras has “organoleptic changes”, meaning it smells bad. The flyer stipulates that customers who return the product to the store where they purchased it will receive a refund.

In addition, bags of Biocoop’s grated Emmental cheese and Métro chef’s cooked skinless ham were also recalled as of Friday morning, samples of which were found to contain Listeria monocytogenesis, a bacterium that can cause fever, nausea, and have serious consequences. for the elderly, immunocompromised people and pregnant women. Two spice mixes – Epicea’s Tex-mex in a plastic can and Grande Épicerie de Paris’ strong massale – must be returned to stores because they contain more pyrrolizidine alkaloids than allowed by law.
