Airbus: the manufacturer is reviewing its agreements with the company and plans to hire 3,500 people

Mass recruitment. Airbus has signed an agreement with unions in France to renegotiate various company agreements and also plans to hire 3,500 people in France in 2023, the European aircraft manufacturer said on Monday.

Three of the four representative organizations (FO, CFE-CGC and CFTC, CGT did not sign) initialed the agreement a few days ago, reformulating about ten texts common to the entire group, 174 agreements in force for 1970, told reporters. French HR Director Mikael Butterbach.

“We have been negotiating for more than 19 months on the topics of social protection, working hours, vacations, compensation,” he explained about this project called “Reboot”.

The “same rules” will apply to the group’s approximately 48,000 employees in France, whether they work in the commercial aircraft, defense and space division or the helicopter division, he said.

Thousands of employees worldwide, 3500 people in France

They will come into force on January 1, 2024, which is in line with the new collective agreement for the steel industry. Employees, for example, will be able to take advantage of five additional days due to the arrival of a child, “12 days to support caring employees,” improved health and an insurance agreement, he said.

In turn, working hours are recalculated on an annualized basis, paid retirement goes from two to three months. “We were driven by a concern for cost neutrality,” says Thierry Baril, Group Director, Global Human Resources.

Airbus, which announced last month its intention to hire 13,000 people worldwide in 2023, of which 7,000 will be net jobs, also specified on Monday that 3,500 employees will be hired in France.

“Half is a natural layoff replacement and the other half is job creation,” said Thierry Baril. The company recruited a similar number of employees last year to respond to an increase in aircraft production and to prepare clean aviation technologies. Of this total, 2,300 hires will be for commercial aircraft, 700 for military space and 500 for helicopters.
