Wall Street opens in green and the Dow Jones rises a slight 0.08%

Wall Street opened this Monday in the green and the Dow Jones Industrials, its main indicator, added a slight 0.08%, while investors await the start of the announcements of the big technology companies.

Ten minutes after the start of operations on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose to 33,835 units and the selective S&P 500 added 0.12% to 4,138 points.

For its part, the composite index of the Nasdaq market, in which the main technology companies are listed, gained 0.09% to 12,083.27 integers.

The Wall Street floor has opened timidly this Monday in line with last week, in which the indices barely registered changes in the weekly global.

The Dow Jones Industrials fell an accumulated 0.2%; the selective S&P 500 0.01% and the Nasdaq index 0.4%, interrupting the positive streak of the previous week, which was led by large banks, as more listed companies report their operating difficulties.

Today highlighted the announcement of the results of Coca-Cola, which recorded a net profit of 3,107 million dollars in the first quarter of 2023, 12% more than in the same period of the previous year.

In the early stages of the day, the shares of the beverage multinational rose 0.71%.

On Tuesday, Amazon, Alphabet and Microsoft are scheduled to announce their results after the stock market closes.

About 76% of S&P 500 companies that have reported first-quarter results so far have beaten analyst estimates, according to FactSet.

However, the fear of a possible recession continues to weigh on investors.

The sectors with the greatest gains were essential goods and communications, with an increase of 0.72% and 0.53%, respectively, while the greatest losses were for public services and real estate, which fell one 0.43% and 0.14%, respectively.

Among the 30 Dow Jones stocks, the companies with the highest gains were Walt Disney (0.83%), Coca-Cola (0.71%) and Caterpillar (0.63%) and the largest losses were for Boeing (-0 .51%) and Travelers (.0.42%).
