European stocks open lower in session focused on business results

The European stock markets have opened the session on Tuesday downwards, in a day in which the focus will be on the business results for the first quarter that are still pending, and among which those of Endesa, Sacyr or Grifols stand out in Spain .

In the first minutes of the session, the stock market that fell the most was that of Paris, with 0.44%, followed by Madrid, with 0.14%, Milan, with 0.12%, Frankfurt, with 0, 08% and London, which was closed yesterday for the coronation acts of Carlos III, 0.04%.

The Euro Stoxx50, an index that includes the European companies with greater capitalization, also loses 0.35%.

The governor of the Irish central bank, Philip Lane, has stated that there is still a lot of inflationary pressure.

Added to this environment of still high inflation are the growing risks of technical recession in countries like Germany, as revealed by the industrial production data released yesterday.

Wall Street closed yesterday on mixed ground and the Dow Jones Industrials, its main indicator, fell 0.17% with investors awaiting US inflation data due this week.

For its part, the Nikkei Tokyo index closed this Tuesday with a rise of 1.01%.

Among the results already known at this time, those of Endesa stand out, which obtained a net result of 594 million euros in the first quarter of the year, 75.7% more than in the same period of the previous year, and Grifols, which has lost 108.3 million euros in the same period, including Biotest figures, due to the company’s restructuring costs, mainly in the United States, compared to earnings of 53.3 million in the same period of the previous year.

In the debt market, the interest on the long-term German bond falls to 2.313%, while the Spanish one also falls to 3.398%.

Regarding raw materials, gold depreciates 0.17% to US$ 2,029 an ounce.

Oil falls in this session, and Brent, a benchmark in Europe, after falling 0.70%, the price of a barrel stands at US$ 76.47, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI), a benchmark in the US The US also lost 0.68% to US$ 72.66.

The euro remains practically flat, with a slight fall of 0.06% and changes to US$ 1,099.
