DolarToday: find out here the price of the dollar in Venezuela today, Tuesday, September 28

The price of the dollar in Venezuela was above the barrier of 4.2 million sovereign bolivars, amid the recent statements by the vice president that the reconversion seeks to boost the Venezuelan currency.

At the opening, the exchange rate was quoted at 4’248,335.09 bolivars per dollar in the parallel or informal market, according to data from the platform DolarToday.

The executive vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, said on Monday that the monetary reconversion, which will take effect in the Caribbean country on October 1 – the third in the century so far – seeks to preserve and boost the national currency. , the bolivar.

The reconversion that will see the light in less than a week will consist of the elimination of six zeros to the local currency, which, according to Rodríguez, will not affect the real value of the currency, which will be called the digital bolivar.

We are not affecting the value of the bolivar at all. As of October 1, the bolivar will continue to be worth exactly the same. It will not be worth more, it will not be worth less, it is only a monetary scale that we are applying by removing six zeros to facilitate transactions“, said.

Due to the hyperinflation that began in November 2017 and the devaluation of the currency, the bolivar banknotes have practically disappeared from the streets, since the one with the highest denomination, the one million, is exchanged for about 25 cents on the dollar and has barely purchasing power.
