Wall Street closes on mixed ground and the Dow Jones rises 0.08%

Wall Street closed this Friday in mixed terrain and the Dow Jones Industrials, its main indicator, rose 0.08%, in an almost flat day in which the variations were minimal.

At the end of operations on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones rose to 34,501 points, while the selective S&P 500 lost an almost imperceptible 0.01%, to 4,370.03 integers.

The Nasdaq composite market index, which groups technology companies, lost 0.20%, to 13,290 units, its fourth consecutive day of decline.

The percentages have been so low that in the last hours of the day the indices were turning from red to green, and vice versa, but they are not going to prevent the weekly calculation from closing negative.

The market remains undecided due to the uncertainty generated by a possible new rise in interest rates by the Federal Reserve at its next meeting and the less optimistic than expected data from China.

By sectors, the variations were also very low and it is only worth noting, among the winners, energy (0.94%), and among the losers, communications (-0.98%).

In the Dow 30, the gains of Walmart (1.44%), Boein (0.94%) and United Health (0.91%) stood out; Losing companies included Johnson & Johnson (-0.87%) and Goldman Sachs (-0.79%).

In other markets, Texas oil closed up at 81.25 dollars (74.74 euros at today’s exchange rate) a barrel, gold rose to 1,918.4 dollars an ounce and ten-year bonds fell to 4.253% .
