On the way to a new strike movement? The union that has led the fight against pension reform will call for a mobilization on Friday, October 13 on issues of wages, gender equality and environmental protection, as we learned this Friday from union sources.
The leaders of the eight major French trade unions met on Friday morning for an inter-union meeting and worked on a press release to be released on Monday.
“This morning we held an inter-union meeting, on Monday at noon (…) we will announce the date of the mobilization, which will be in mid-October and will focus on wages, austerity measures, gender equality, and will also talk about the environment. “, said Sophie Binet, General Secretary of the CGT, during a debate organized within the framework of the University of Social Movements and Solidarity in Bobigny.
“Let’s do our best to make this date a success”
“We really need to do our best to make this date a success,” she added, specifying that the mobilization will take place on Friday, which echoes the Fridays for Future environmental mobilization.
Several union officials have confirmed that the date to be announced is October 13, the inter-union association following in the footsteps of the European Trade Union Confederation, which provides for two mobilization dates: October 13 and December 13, according to Ivan Ricordo, number two of the CFDT.
