Back to School 2023: Student Financial Assistance Available

Rising prices for rent, transportation, energy, meals… All student organizations note an increase in the cost of starting the 2023 academic year for students. + an increase of 6.43% for example for Unef, or approximately an increase in the additional budget of 50 euros per month. So this year it’s even more important to consider what help you can get depending on your status or location. Here is a list of financial aid available this year.

Scholarships and accommodation in university residences

Depending on the level of wealth of your family, Social Criteria Grants (BCS) are awarded to students who apply for them with CNOUS/Crous, which manages financial aid applications as well as housing university residences. The amount of assistance varies depending on your situation: from 1454 to 6335 euros per year and another 900 euros in merit allowance for students who had a TB mark in their undergraduate studies. Housing Benefits

For students working and studying, Action Logement offers assistance. Youth mobile from 10 to 100 euros per month for one year (maximum) to also pay his rent.

Free psychological session

Another measure introduced after the Covid crisis and maintained until the start of the 2023 school year: the service Health Psychiatry Students (or psychological check) allows students to receive free psychological support. In practice, these are 8 sessions of psychological support without prepayment.

Energy check

Culture and sports

In order not to sacrifice culture and leisure, the government proposes cultural pass assistance from 20 to 300 euros for students from 15 to 18 years old. €20 for college students aged 15 and over, €30 for high school students aged 16 and 17, and €300 are valid for 2 years when you turn 18. If you play sports and are registered with a club, gym, etc., you can also get help. Sports Pass 50 euros. However, this assistance is for students receiving a scholarship or students receiving a Return to School Allowance (ARS AEEH or AAH).

Regional assistance

Some regions can also help you locally.
