Internship: Recruitment assistance extended until 2024.

“Year after year, the development of vocational training has proven its value, legitimizing more than ever the goal of one million apprentices per year,” commented Labor Minister Olivier Dussop, who announced on Saturday morning in a press release: the resumption of recruitment assistance in 2024 student.

This bonus of €6,000 for the first year of the contract applies to the employment of an apprentice of any age or an employee under a professionalization contract under the age of 30. It is provided unconditionally to companies with fewer than 250 employees. Larger companies are also eligible, subject to achieving a certain number of work and training contracts or contracts promoting professional integration in their workforce by the end of December 2025.

Growth of 6.2% per year

According to the Ministry of Employment, there were a total of 1,017,500 secondary and higher education students in France at the end of October 2023, an increase of 6.2% compared to the end of October 2022.

As of the end of October 2023, 780,200 apprenticeship contracts had been awarded year-to-date, up 2.8% on last year. The government has set a goal of signing one million contracts in 2027.

The growth in internships can be explained both by the 2018 reform (which, in particular, liberalized the opening of training centers and expanded training opportunities to 26-29 years old) and bonuses when hiring. In mid-December, Parliament finally adopted a text designed to promote Erasmus for Learning by facilitating the international mobility of students studying and working.
