3000 euros net per month, no diploma required… very attractive job offer from the Senate

A job offer that we are not used to finding. The Senate is hiring a full-time supervisor for the Luxembourg Gardens with a starting net monthly salary of 3,000 euros, including allowances, Le Figaro reports. An attractive income if we know that in 2020 the average income in the public civil service at full time was 2,639 euros per month.

A diploma is not required to apply for this job, effective July 1, 2024. On the other hand, candidates tempted by this position must have at least three years of active military service, active duty as a firefighter, or professional training in surveillance, security, or personal rescue.

To have a chance of being hired, you must meet certain criteria. In the ad, the Senate states that it is looking for a compassionate and approachable individual with a “sense of service,” “insight,” as well as “self-control.” A civil service agent must also be able to “demonstrate authority” as well as “report to the hierarchy.” In addition, he must be able to “adapt to different situations and interlocutors” and value “contact with the public and teamwork.”

Wearing a uniform and the right to impose fines

The future leader will have to greet and inform pedestrians in the Luxembourg Gardens, assist and rescue victims, and control vehicle access. In addition, he is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of events organized in the Luxembourg Gardens, such as exhibitions, concerts or even filming, and must ensure the safety of the estate.

Please note that Garden Wardens are confirmed and sworn in upon their appointment as Assistant Bailiffs. Therefore, while wearing a uniform, they have the right to note in their reports violations of the provisions of the rules of the Luxembourg Gardens.

To apply, candidates must register online and submit their application by Friday, January 26th. Qualifying tests will take place on Thursday 29 February and successful candidates will be required to take placement tests during the weeks of 15 to 22 April.
