Leclerc, Carrefour, Auchan: hundreds of turkeys potentially contaminated with listeria recalled

Be careful if you buy a prepared turkey from the supermarket in early January. According to the ministerial website Rappel Conso, this could potentially be affected by a massive recall of vehicles. Dozens of mentions refer to several brands: Carrefour, Leclerc, Le Gaulois, Le Gaulois Professionnel, Maître Coq, Sélection du Volailler, Cora, Intermarché, Super U, Auchan, Reghalal and even Médina Halal.

These products were sold between the end of December and January 6 or 7, as this was their expiration date. If you have not yet consumed the product, you are asked to discard it due to the risk of contamination. The same applies if you froze the product for later use, you are asked not to do this and get rid of the purchased turkey.

If you have a fever, see your doctor

If you’ve already consumed one of these foods, don’t panic. If you don’t notice any symptoms, there is nothing to worry about. On the other hand, if you experience an increase in body temperature, isolated or accompanied by headaches and body aches, Rappel Konso suggests that you contact your doctor and notify him of this use.

Severe forms may also occasionally occur, with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women. Pregnant women, as well as people with weakened immune systems and the elderly should be especially alert to these symptoms. Listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
