The housing crisis is also having a detrimental impact on businesses. According to research by the Confederation of SMEs published last December, almost 20% of hires don’t happen because candidates can’t afford accommodation close to where they work. To stop this phenomenon, more and more employers are innovating to help their employees find housing. Each in their own way. Paola Fabiani, manager of Wisecom call centers, decided that her company would act as a joint guarantor for its permanent employees who requested it. “If our employees fail to pay rent, we will take over management. This reassures the owners and protects the requests of our employees,” she explains.
