In years of minimal inflation and high unemployment, French enthusiasm for wage negotiations has largely waned due to a lack of faith in them. Since 2022, rising prices and tight labor markets have renewed interest in them. In 2024, the experts we surveyed report an increase above 3%, that is, slightly higher than the level of inflation forecast in the coming months by Bercy experts.

This issue is in the hands of trade unions, professional industries and general management. However, for many employees, it is the individually assigned raises that make the real difference in the payroll. A large number of companies prefer this repricing method to avoid leaving the largest number of people with an unsatisfactory spread.
