“Possible contamination from cleaning agent.” Several Emmental ham pancakes from the Casino, Franprix and Monoprix brands have been recalled by food warning site Rappel Conso. They were withdrawn from sale after “the discovery of an abnormal taste in the ham caused by potential contamination with a cleaning agent,” it said.
These are “two buckwheat pancakes with Emmental ham 300 g” from the Monoprix brand, “buckwheat pancakes with Emmental ham – 2x150g” from the Casino brand and “buckwheat pancakes with Emmental ham x2 – 300 g” from Franprix.

The risk for the consumer is poisoning from a chemical product. “People who have consumed the product mentioned and experience unusual digestive symptoms are encouraged to consult their physician and report such use,” Casino states on its website.
These batches were put on shelves from February 20 to 23, and were removed from the shelves of various distribution stores on March 1 and 2. If you are one of the customers, you should not eat these pancakes, but return them to the store or destroy them. Refunds are provided.
