Plant-based sausages, plant-based milks, fakes… All supermarket departments are gradually making room for vegan products, that is, without products of animal origin. In addition to specialty brands, food industry heavyweights are getting into the act. Be it Bel, which is set to sell the vegan Laughing Cow in Anglo-Saxon countries, Fleury Michon, which is promoting a “revolutionary innovation in the plant-based market” at the end of the month, or even Aoste, which is launching five products under a new brand in France, Better Balance. Sausages, breading, minced meat (plain or with herbs) and hamburgers, which will be available in supermarkets in early April.
“These are products that we have already launched in Spain and which work very well. This segment has great growth potential,” enthuses Julie Vidal, Brand Manager at Better Balance.
