Contamination with E. coli bacteria: batches of minced meat from Cora, Leclerc and Auchan stores recalled

Meat contaminated with E. coli bacteria in Cora, Auchan and Leclerc stores. Government website Rappel Conso has issued several recalls of minced steak trays since Friday that were found to contain the toxigenic Escherichia coli shiga bacteria, which can have a serious impact on consumer health.

We are talking about several different items: boxes: Shredded Steak X2 5% Transpare, Shredded Steak X6 5% VBF, Frisette 500g 5% VBF, Tournedosteack VBF, Shredded Steak 5% A list of different batches and stores has been published by Rappel Conso.

E. coli bacteria can cause “sometimes bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain and vomiting, with or without fever,” the government website reminds. Most patients recover within 10 days, the World Health Organization says, but in the most vulnerable, especially young children and the elderly, “the infection can progress to a potentially fatal form,” with acute kidney failure, hemolytic anemia (low red blood cell count) and thrombocytopenia (lack of platelets in the blood).

These contaminated products were put on shelves on February 28 and removed on March 5. If you buy them, you must destroy them or return them to the store, but above all, do not eat them. Returns are possible. Contact number for product recall: 03.27.21.65.25.
