Mushrooms sold in Leclerc recalled due to excessively high levels of pesticides

They stayed on the shelves for two weeks. Ruol brand mushrooms were recalled this Monday due to “the presence of pesticides exceeding the regulatory threshold,” according to the Rappel Conso website, which warns about hazardous products sold in the country.

In detail, these are the 250g trays of mushrooms that are affected by the recall. They were sold in selected Leclerc supermarkets in nine departments (Aisne, Drôme, Isère, Loire, Rhône, Saône et Loire, Savoie, Haute-Savoie and Vaucluse) between Tuesday 19 March and Tuesday 2 April.

In case of consumption of the product, the consumer is responsible for “exceeding the permitted limits for the use of pesticides,” Rappel Konso summarizes. As such, the government website urges people to “no longer consume” these mushrooms, destroy them or return them to the point of sale where they will be offered a refund.

Two pieces of data identify the respective trays: GTIN (International Unique Identification Number) 3000047038131 and Lot Number 180324.

To assist the consumer in the procedure, a telephone number has been established: 03 23 72 22 13. The recall procedure will end on Thursday, April 18.
