“We have two years of orders ahead of us! “: in the Loire OBM Construction is not in crisis

The housing sector is down, but everything is green for OBM Construction. This company from Chevilly (Loiret), specializing in the construction of timber frames, has just taken over a Norman competitor that was in receivership. Ayr-based Poulingue will have to cut its workforce from 180 to 109 but should be revived by building synergies with the buyer.

Expected turnover of 80 million euros in 2024

OMB Construction, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, has been fortunate to avoid the problems of its fellow builders. The company specializes in school equipment and works with communities that continue to invest in the sector. It also benefits from the popularity of timber construction, which limits the carbon footprint of buildings. “We have almost two years of orders ahead of us,” says CEO Tristan Leur, who has been leading the company since 2022.

The company, which manages its facilities as a general contractor from A to Z, produces timber frame walls and metal frames in its workshops in Cheville. Thanks to Poulingue, the company will be able to diversify its markets.

In particular, he intends to develop in the field of rehabilitation, using the experience of his new Normandy partner and the new rules on artificial zero net profit.

The acquisition doubled OBM Construction’s size, making it one of the largest independent players in the timber construction sector. Its turnover should increase from 53 to 80 million euros in 2024, and the goal is to reach 100 million by 2026.
