Wall Street opens in green and the Dow Jones rises 0.47% this Monday, April 22

Wall Street opened this Monday with its indicators in green, and the Dow Jones Industrialsits main indicator, starts the week with a rise of 0.47%, up to 38,387 points.

One minute after the trading floor opened, the selective S&P 500 rose 0.51%, to 5,029 points, and the technological Nasdaq also gained 0.65% to stand at 15,380 points.

Last week was disastrous for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq, which lost 3.1% and 5.5%, respectively, in both cases six consecutive weeks of losses, with the “magnificent seven” of technology being the most punished.

This week, between Tuesday and Thursday, the quarterly results of Tesla, Meta, American Airlines, Microsoft and Alphabet are expected, and if the good omens of the analysts come true, the new figures can correct the slump of the previous weeks.

Other expected figures are the US GDP for Thursday and inflation for Friday, both essential to predict the direction of the Federal Reserve’s policies, which is increasingly postponing the desired lowering of interest rates.

In the sectors, technology is clearly on the path to recovery and leads the gains (1.26%), above non-essential goods (0.68%); Among those that fell, it is worth mentioning raw materials (-0.46%).

In the Dow 30 index, the increases in Salesforce (2.03%) and Amazon (1.55%) stand out, and the decreases in Verizon (-1.72%) and United Health (-1.18%).
